Why you cant see flash on your iPhone nor are ever likley too.

Friday, July 1st, 2011

Its very fustrating for us web developers, that Apple wont allow Flash- the animated gizmo that many websites use either wholy or partly to show animations, videos etc. on their iPhone. Evere wondered why?
Well here is the full story:
Apple are terrified that you’ll be able to use it to download music and videos and bypass their dreaded itunes store. Thats it in a nutshell.
“Flash is Adobe’s highly popular platform for displaying interactive graphics, animations and multimedia within a browser. According to Adobe, 98 percent of desktop computers currently support Flash, which has led to its widespread use by web developers. Adobe’s recent announcement that it is working on a version of Flash for Windows Mobile has prompted speculation that an iPhone version might be coming soon. ”

So what to do, As a web developer we are looking to use jquery more and more for banner animations, as this WILL work on all phones. Its not the complete answer I know, but it works for now.
